Besides having medical difficulties, we encountered some technical
> difficulties! I hope to have them fixed! Ironicly i am able to fix
> the technical issues but not the medical ones.

> Yesterday we met with approximatly 12 docters, nurses, and other
> hospital personel. We first met with austin's head CF docter who was
> able to answer alot of our bacteria questions. He explained that
> B.Cepacia has 8 different strains and that some strains are worse then
> others, ... we are waiting to find out which strain we have! they
> will administer by iv, 3 different antibiotics to cover all the
> bacteria and infection that is in his body. I feel positive with the
> explation so far, but as i am experiencing orders can change within an
> instance! We"ve been able to walk free in the hospital... with a
> mask, and just as writing this they changed us to complete
> isolation!!! So I am not getting overly relaxed just yet!!! So...
> isolation means austin can not leave his room and all doctors and
> nurses need to gown and mask up before entering and disinfect upon
> leaving. I have been told ... so far that I am able to leave the room.

> After that meeting, we went off to CT scan for his siniuses. He has
> polyps in there that we knew have been blocking his sinius cavity and
> restricting his breathing. Well!!!! we found out from the CT scan
> that it accually has grown through the cavity wall of his sinises and
> will need definate surgery, this is a totally seperate issue from the
> bacteria but will need to be adressed immediatly once the bacteria is
> cleaned up. It can cause major issues with surrounding areas of his
> sinises... eyes, chin, and more. I am anxious to get more information
> about that.

> austin today did a fantastic job with getting his picc line in...
> it is a more permenant iv that can remain in for the full two weeks.
> Origianlly I requested austin to be put under but after alot of
> thorough discusion we concluded that he stay awake. i was so scared i
> had made a wrong decision (i couldn't be in the room with him which
> always makes both of us nervous) i waited for an hour in our
> room very nervously but it turned out to be soooo good. there were
> some minor complications but in the end it was alright.

> I am so blessed to have an incredible brave and strong son!!!! He
> has gone through so much and has heard some very devastating news with
> grace i will only wish to achieve.
>
> I want to thank each and every one of you for all your prayers,
> thoughts, and wonderful care packages that have been made for us!!!
>
> I pray you will be blessed because you have richly blessed us!! I will
> continue to update as things change.... My prayer is now that the
> medicine works and allows Austin's body to be healthy!
